Winfrey Paul Sagayam Dennis

Profile:

Trained in the intricacies of aerospace engineering, Winfrey is currently pursuing dual master’s degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as Mechanical Engineering, at Purdue University. Her specialization lies in Systems Engineering and Human Factors. In addition to her academic pursuits, Winfrey serves as the President of AeroAssist, representing over 600 graduate school students in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. She also holds the position of President at Women in Aerospace, where she organizes the Amelia Earhart Summit —a platform for women in aerospace to explore a myriad of career options within the aerospace industry.

Beyond her STEM activities, Winfrey finds joy in playing and listening to music, delving into historical studies, and exploring new places.

Research:

Apart being Crew Engineer for Mangalyatra – Crew 292, Winfrey will also conduct research on human factors, specifically focusing on how the isolation of confinement and the extreme environment of the MDRS landscape and habitat impact human adaptation. Her research will encompass areas such as vigilance, assessment of mental workload, and spatial orientation, contributing valuable insights into human factors at MDRS. Drawing on her internship experience with Cummins Air Filtration, Winfrey will also address air quality concerns within the MDRS station, leveraging her expertise in this area.
